I asked myself this question quite a while ago. I still dated, but while I wasn't, I was looking for someone. I didn't know all about what this person was like, but I knew enough to know that I would be looking for quite some time. I even came close once, but there was one slightly massive problem. Well recently, I asked myself what I'm looking for again. I'm happy with the new found maturity in my new "list" when compared to the new one. I didn't ask myself some old questions, and asked myself new ones, such as occupation, and certain life goals.
